              One Heart

              Oct 25, 2021 | Blog/News, Charities

For the last 13 years, One Heart have been empowering entire communities and transforming the lives of vulnerable children. Their message and mission is simple; if we are to give a true hand up rather than just another hand out, we need to change the traditional approach to charity. If we are to truly break the poverty cycle we need to think smarter, be more entrepreneurial, work more collaboratively, and develop a sustainable model for community development that embeds sustainable long term change in the lives of thousands of the most vulnerable children and see them rise up to become the leaders of tomorrow.

It’s a message that resonated with Simon Costa OA. His new project with One Heart is raising $1.8M to build a village community for young girls that are victims of horrendous domestic violence from men and family members. It is being designed to house 150 girls initially (with plans to expand), keep them safe, help them recover from their injuries, provide them with education and give them a source of income. The goal is to create a self-sustaining, safe community, with hope the model can be replicated in the future.

It’s a project that struck a chord With Thompson CEO Bruce Thompson, who couldn’t help think that it is something our firm would love to support.

              So we have.

As of August 2022, Thompson has donated over $35,000 to support Simon’s project with One Heart to help create a healthy, safe community for those most in need.
